Alkene Metalates as Hydrogenation Catalysts
First-row transition-metal complexes hold great potential as catalysts for hydrogenations and related reductive reactions. Homo- and heteroleptic arene/alkene metalates(1-) (M=Co, Fe) are a structurally distinct catalyst class with good activities in hydrogenations of alkenes and alkynes. The first syntheses of the heteroleptic cobaltates [K([18]crown-6)][Co(η4 -cod)(η2 -styrene)2 ] (5) and [K(...
متن کاملSelective Hydrogenation of Acetylene over Palladium in Ultra High Vacuum
Under ultra-high-vacuum conditions, precoverage of a palladium(ll1) surface with hydrogen does not affect either the kinetics or the extent of acetylene uptake at 175 K. The subsequent reactive behavior of the system is however radically altered. Benzene formation is strongly suppressed, the transformation of adsorbed acetylene to another species (@-phase) is enhanced, and the yield of ethylene...
متن کاملTiO2 supported Pd@Ag as highly selective catalysts for hydrogenation of acetylene in excess ethylene.
A novel TiO2 supported core-shell (Pd@Ag) bimetallic catalyst was fabricated via the sequential photodeposition method. The Ag shell effectively blocks the high coordination sites on the Pd core, and therefore pronouncedly enhances the ethylene selectivity for the catalytic hydrogenation of acetylene in excess ethylene.
متن کاملPredicting Kinetic Parameters of Acetylene Hydrogenation Reaction Via Optimization Techniques
In this study simulation and optimization of an industrial acetylene hydrogenation reactor was studied. Three well known kinetic models were used for a nearly similar catalyst to predict the industrial data. Due to the complexity of the reactions, none of the offered kinetic models could be considered as an exact kinetic model and it is necessary to determine the kinetic parameters. One of the ...
